Sustainability

Ever since our company was founded, we have been committed to the efficient use and optimisation of energy throughout the entire life-cycle of a property.

As per the Federal Energy Strategy 2050, we are, along with our clients, committed to the expansion of renewable energy.  Due to our commitment to continuous education, training and knowledge exchange, we can provide our clients with the latest industry know-how. These values form the basis of our mission statement and are reflected in our day-to-day work and quality management processes.

Advisory Board Energy-Ecology

In 2011 we started an advisory board covering all topics to do with energy and ecology in collaboration with specialists from the political, economic and scientific spheres.

Innovation Park Central Switzerland / ParkinnovAARE

As an innovative engineering company, we value the exchange of visions and project ideas on these two platforms with representatives from business, education, research and politics.

"The best knowledge comes from experience."

Prix Eta

In 1989, the Prix ETA of the Swiss electricity industry for the rational use of energy was awarded for the first time - HKG won the 1st prize in their category with the project energy efficiency in lighting technology. The project involved a creative new application of motion detectors, which, in combination with a programmable logic controller and dimmable energy saving lamps, saves 300'000 kWh per year, with a payback time of 3 ½ years.

Cleantech Agency Switzerland (act)

We are a co-founder of and accredited energy advisor to Cleantech, a Swiss agency for promoting resource efficiency in the economy. It supports businesses to reduce costs, reduce CO2 emissions and improve energy efficiency. Cleantech is particularly useful to businesses that fall into the cantonal large-scale consumer legislation.

HKG Office Building in Aarau

Our own office building in Aarau showcases our dedication to sustainability, alongside our technical and economic skills.  As a pilot and demo project of the Federal Office for energy, supported by the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences, “the 4-class building” uses various efficiency classes in building automation to demonstrate the savings potential of all energy sources in the different seasons.
